The Old School

Description

This peaceful, spacious, and exceptionally well presented property is one of a distinctive trio converted from a former Victorian school and retains many original features. It is accessed through the school entrance into a hall. Quietly set in the heart of this popular coastal village, it is within walking distance of salt marshes and there are RSPB reserves at Titchwell and Salthouse. Beautiful beaches, historic houses and villages abound in this corner of Norfolk. Sailing at Morston, trips to see seals at Blakeney and the bustling market town of Holt are all about 5 miles. Langham Glass, Pensthorpe Waterfowl Park, the Thursford Collection and the North Norfolk Steam Railway are all within 15 miles. Shops and pubs within walking distance

Reviews

Cley was fantastic - quiet, good facilities, great bird reserves, the garden was big enough for the young kids to play cricket and we had breakfast and dinner out in the garden most days. We plan to come back. The barn owls nearby were a wonderful addition!

Taking a break in one of our holiday cottages in Norfolk is the ideal way to explore this atmospheric and historic county. The coastline is the major attraction here, with miles of sandy beaches stretching from historic King’s Lynn all the way round to Great Yarmouth, famous for its Golden Mile and multitude of seaside attractions and entertainments. Cromer (noted for its crabs and pier), Sheringham and Hunstanton are also firm family favourites. If you prefer something quieter during your stay in one of our holiday cottages in Norfolk, try the North Norfolk Coast, a designated Area of Natural Beauty and a haven for walkers and birdwatchers. Venture inland and you’ll discover a gently rolling landscape dotted with flint cottages and ancient churches.

The county town of Norwich is one of England’s best-preserved cities and is a joy to wander around. Don’t miss a visit to the magnificent cathedral towering above the surrounding medieval streets. East of the city lie the Norfolk Broads, a vast expanse of interconnected lakes and waterways which has long been a firm favourite with sailors. Hire a boat for a day to see them at their best. Less
well-known are the mysterious Brecks, a wilderness area of heaths and forests and one of the least-populated parts of the country.
